Recovery Road is a group tailored specifically to those experiencing an Eating Disorder, who are currently on the road to recovery but understandably are experiencing fear, anxiety and uncertainty about what the future holds.
Based on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and facilitated by our expert Clinical Psychologists, this group promotes the understanding that letting go of an Eating Disorder often opens us up to many life challenges which until now, have either been put on hold by the Eating Disorder and/or have contributed to keeping it firmly locked in its place. Fears may include those related to body image, identity, relationships and feeling left behind by our peers. Often people feel scared about 'what now'? as they begin to take those initial courageous steps towards recovery. In our Recovery Road group, we therefore explore and validate these realistic and understandable challenges in a safe and nonjudgemental group environment, and learn skills and techniques to overcome them in order that we can continue along our road to recovery.
